Find and edit a product's shipping settings

Use the Products page to look up one product and change how it ships: its size, its boxes, where it ships from, free or flat shipping, a markup, and where it can't ship.

Before you begin

The Products page is for Shopify and BigCommerce stores. On Turbify (Yahoo), product shipping settings come from the ASM fields on each product in your Turbify store, and ASM picks them up when you publish. See How products get into ASM.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, select Products. You can also select Manage products → on your Dashboard.
  2. In Find a product, type part of a SKU or product name in the Search by SKU or product name box. Results appear as you type.
  3. Select the product's row. The Edit Product page opens, with the product name and (SKU # …) at the top.
  4. Change the settings you need. They are grouped in three sections:
  5. Select Save Product. You return to the product list and see Product saved.

If you've turned on an add-on that needs per-product values (for example bundled items or freight class), a fourth section, Extensions' Variables, appears. See Add-on product fields.

Tips for searching

  • The search matches any part of the SKU or the name. Typing tent finds TENT-XL and "Camping Tent".
  • On Shopify, each variant is its own product in ASM, named "Product title - Variant title". Search for the variant name to find it.
  • The list stays empty until you type something. There's no "show all" view.
  • Up to 200 matches are shown, 20 per page. If you don't see your product, type more of its SKU or name.
  • Select the SKU or Name column header to sort the results.

What you can't change here

  • Weight. Weight comes from Shopify or BigCommerce. ASM shows it as Ship weight (read-only) if your store ships from the US. To change it, edit the product in your store. See Rates use the wrong weight.
  • Name, price and SKU. These also come from your store.

Uploading a CSV file under Import and export overwrites changes made on this page, and changes made here overwrite what a CSV upload set. Whichever you save last wins. See Bulk-update products with a CSV file.

If support has set your Shopify store to take product settings from Shopify product tags, don't edit products here: the next update of the product in Shopify replaces your edits. See Shopify: control settings with product tags.

Check that it works

Open the Shipping Estimator, add the product to a test cart, and check the rates. Every save is also recorded in the Activity Log as "Product SKU: N field(s) changed".
