Add-on product fields

Some add-ons need a value on each product. When one of them is on, the Edit Product page shows an extra section, Extensions' Variables, with only the fields for your add-ons. Each field also has a CSV column, so you can fill it for many products at once (see Bulk-update products with a CSV file).

If you don't see Extensions' Variables, none of these add-ons is on for your store. See Plans and extensions.

Product points

The product's points value for the points system, which fills your boxes by points instead of by weight. Enter a number, for example 12.

How points map to boxes is set up in Settings → Packaging. See Box mapping (points system).

Bundled quantity, weight and dimensions

Ship several units of a product together as one package.

  • Bundled quantity: how many units make one bundle.
  • Bundled weight: the weight of one full bundle.
  • Bundled dimensions: the size of one full bundle, as LxWxH in inches.

When the cart has at least the bundled quantity, each full bundle ships as one package with the bundled weight and size. Leftover units ship one by one, as usual.

Example: Bundled quantity 6, bundled dimensions 12x12x8. A cart with 14 units ships as 2 bundles (12x12x8 each) plus 2 single units.

Process time

How long the product takes to get ready before it ships. The delivery estimate and delivery countdown add-ons use it when they work out a delivery date.

  • Enter a number such as 3, or a range such as 7-10.
  • Up to 5 characters.
  • In a CSV export, a range is written as '7-10 so spreadsheet apps don't turn it into a date. Leave the apostrophe; ASM removes it on upload.

See Show delivery dates at checkout and Delivery countdown ("Order within…").

Hazmat

Switch on for products classified as hazardous materials. In a CSV file, use Yes or No.

If a hazmat product can't ship to the shopper's address, the shopper sees: Your shopping cart includes an item classified as Hazardous Materials, which cannot be shipped to your location.

Options weight / points

Extra weight or points for product options (for example, a larger size option that weighs more). The format depends on your store platform. Contact support before you fill this in, and we'll help you set it up.

Harmonized codes

The product's Harmonized System (HS) tariff code, used to quote duties and taxes on international shipments.

Perishable (Y/N)

For the temperature sensor add-on. Enter Y for products that are perishable. See Temperature sensor for perishable products.

Freight class

The product's LTL freight class. Pick None or a class from Class 50 to Class 500:

50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 77.5, 85, 92.5, 100, 110, 125, 150, 175, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500.

In a CSV file, enter the number only, for example 85.

If support has set your store to calculate freight class from density, the calculated class is normally used instead of this field.

See LTL freight in ASM: classes, accessorials and billing terms.
