Show a delivery countdown on product pages
The Delivery Countdown add-on shows shoppers on your product pages when an order will arrive, based on one of your shipping methods. This article covers how to choose that method and the settings the countdown uses.
Before you begin
Before you start
- The Delivery Countdown add-on on your store. See Plans and extensions.
- Your delivery settings. The countdown uses the same Cut-off time, processing time and dates as your other delivery estimates. See Show delivery dates at checkout.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Delivery Estimates.
- Turn on Enable delivery estimates.
- Set Default processing time, Cut-off time (Central time) and Closed dates (days you don't ship).
- Choose the Primary shipping method used for delivery countdown module — the method whose delivery date the countdown shows, usually your most popular one.
- Optional: choose a Secondary shipping method used for delivery countdown module. Leave it at None if you don't need one.
- Under Delivery estimate for each method, make sure the primary and secondary methods each show an estimate (a carrier service or a Custom setting).
- Select Save Settings.
How ASM picks the method for each product
- If the primary method is available for the product, the countdown uses it.
- If it isn't (for example, the product is set not to ship by that method), the countdown uses the secondary method.
- If neither is available, the countdown is hidden on that product. It doesn't fall back to an unrelated method.
- If you leave both empty, the countdown uses the first available method.
See Stop a product shipping by some methods or to some places for how products are restricted to methods.
All times, including the cut-off, are in Central time. A shopper who visits after the cut-off sees a date based on the next business day.
Check that it works
Open a product page on your storefront and look for the countdown. Check a product that can't use your primary method too, to see the secondary method (or no countdown).
If the countdown doesn't appear on any product page, contact support. We'll check it's installed on your storefront.
