Turn ASM on (or off) at checkout
Switch ASM on so your checkout shows ASM's shipping rates, or off to stop them. New stores start with ASM off, so you can set up your rules without changing your live checkout.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Shipping.
- Under Global shipping settings, find Enable Advanced Shipping Manager in your store.
- Switch it on (or off).
- Select Save Settings.
The badge next to the switch shows where you are:
- Live — your checkout shows ASM's rates.
- Not live — it doesn't.
Turning ASM off stops ASM's rates at your checkout right away. Shoppers who reach checkout while it's off won't see ASM's shipping methods.
Check that it works
- The Dashboard's Finish setting up card ticks Turn ASM on in your store.
- The Advanced Shipping Manager is off banner is gone from the top of the admin.
- Add a product to your store's cart and go to checkout. ASM's methods show.
If you still don't see rates
Being switched on is only part of the connection to your checkout:
- Shopify also needs Carrier Calculated Shipping. See Shopify: turn on Carrier Calculated Shipping.
- BigCommerce needs ASM connected in each shipping zone. See BigCommerce: connect ASM to your shipping zones.
- Turbify needs the Shipping Method Populator in your cart. See Turbify: shipping methods don't load in the cart.

The "Advanced Shipping Manager is off" banner
While ASM is off, every admin page shows Advanced Shipping Manager is off with "Your checkout isn't showing its rates until you turn it on." Select Turn it on to jump to the switch. See Alerts at the top of the admin, explained.
