Carrier labels: Not set up, Not connected, Reconnect needed…

In Settings → Carriers, a carrier's tile shows a label only when it needs your attention. No label means there's nothing to do.

Before you begin

Carrier tiles in Settings → Carriers: TForce Freight labeled Not connected; Estes, FedEx Freight and Echo Global Logistics labeled Not set up

The labels

Not set up

  • FedEx: no API key and secret key are saved.
  • Any other carrier: none of its login fields are filled in. The label updates as you type.
  • It only means nothing is entered. It doesn't check that the login works. Options such as freight class, extra services or packaging don't count as setup.
  • Fix: enter your details, save, and select Test connection.

Not connected

Reconnect needed

  • UPS: UPS stopped accepting the connection. The card shows "UPS stopped accepting this connection. Please reconnect your UPS account." Fix: select Reconnect your UPS account and sign in to UPS again.
  • TForce Freight: the connection expired. Fix: select Login with TForce and log in again.

Check API keys

  • FedEx only. You saved a key and secret, but FedEx refused them, so there's no FedEx connection.
  • ASM doesn't show an error when you save. This label and Test connection are where you'll see it.
  • Fix: check the keys in your FedEx Developer Portal project, paste them again, save and test. See Connect FedEx.

Check account (red or amber)

  • Your recent checkout quotes with this carrier failed, or your last Test connection did.
  • Red: the carrier rejected your login, or your account isn't set up for these quotes.
  • Amber: the carrier keeps returning errors, or hasn't returned a rate for your store in a while.
  • Hover over the tile to see the problem, the carrier's own message, and when it last failed and last quoted.
  • Fix: see A carrier says "Check account".

Which label wins

Not connected, Reconnect needed and Not set up show before Check account. Fix the setup first. If the carrier still fails after that, Check account appears.
